2011 Arbitration Rules/Guidelines

The Institution of Engineers Tanzania (IET) is a voluntary non-profit and non-governmental professional association whose membership comprise engineers and associated professionals in all disciplines. The Institution with current (2011) membership of more than 3,000 was established in 1977 to promote the practice and engineering excellence in Tanzania. In the course of carrying out its professional activities over the years, IET has been offering arbitration services without using formally documented and structured guidelines and/or rules for governing the provision of such services. In order to strengthen its position in arbitration matters, the Institution is hereby adopting its Rules, guidelines and procedures to be known as IET Rules and Guidelines for Arbitration.
